A Different Kind of Freebie

Well, different for me at least. I was thinking that I haven't given out a freebie in some time and I won't be participating in July's Blog Train... so I thought I would give you all a little something.

I got a lot of comments on the layout I made for the Speed Scrap....

so I decided to turn my layout into a template!

It comes preshadowed, so if you like how I cut up my paper all you have to do is clip your papers! Download includes one PSD file and a jpeg version if you prefer to use it as a sketch.

Sorry, link has expired.

I've made templates for myself before and have some CU templates in the store, but this is the first time I share a layout template with anyone. Let me know if you'd like me to make more. Thanks and happy scrapping!

It's $2 Tuesday in Digiland!

First off, it's time to change things up in our $2 Tuesday sale. Beginning today and for the next week you can pick up Like No Other and the Quick Pages for only $2 each!

Remember that the Quick Pages include a bonus alpha and the Add-on mini to Like No Other is still only $1.99.

Hopping on over to TDC...

Gypsy Couture is offering Free By The Sea, $2 for today only. Just look at those amazing elements!

Last, but certainly not least is Mari Koegelenberg... did I tell you that I made her CT? Well, I did! How awesome is that? She is offering her almost brand spankin' new kit Lovebug and the Lovebug Badge Album for $2 each only for today. That is just crazy, these were just released!

Let's Celebrate!

After a much needed break, I finally have a new kit in my store! It's called "Celebrate!" and it is meant to scrap your 4th of July or Canada Day pictures! It started off as just a 4th of July kit, but I was informed by a few of my Canadian CT's that there was not much out there for them. Now what kind of a girl would I be if I didn't help them out? So, what started as a mini kit turned into a full kit for everyone. Thank you Sandra and Teri for your awesome suggestions!

Here is the preview:

I made it to a Speed Scrap!

Woo Hoo! I hadn't been able to attend a SS in quite a while, but I made it tonight. Tracy of Growing Pains Scrapped was our host. These were the instructions:

Step 1. Open up 4 papers – 1 solid and 3 B&T (patterened...background/texture...)

Step 2. Your solid paper is your background. Cut 1 paterned into a long rectangle, 1 into a short rectangle and 1 into a medium squar-ish shape (like a 7 x 5)

Step 3. Find 1 picture and a frame – frame your picture

Step 4. Attach frame with a fastener of some sort and a tag. Put a date on your tag.

Step 5. Add a ribbon and a few flowers and 1 other (non flower) element and make a small cluster. Use a buckle or other type of fastener on your ribbon

Step 6. Title with a 2 word title

Step 7. Add at least 3 lines of journaling, drop shadows and finishing touches

Here is my layout:

That's my husband, have I ever shown him to you before? I took that picture during our trip and I love it! I'm sure you'll see it in other layouts, it is my new favorite of him. He usually has a really annoyed look on his face when I take his picture, lol!

I used a little bit of a lot of kits by Gypsy Couture. I used the following: Boho Baby (Kit and Extras), Sweet Pea, Way Out Wild and Secret Places and Sweet Imagination.

I also just added my Daddy & Me mini kit to my store. The original kit was part of last month's blog train, however I've made it a little bigger for the store. Just so you know, I will not be participating in July's Blog Train. I was out of town for a personal matter and was unable to complete my portion. I just got home yesterday and hope to have a few new things in my store soon.

It's Two Dollar Tuesday at The Digi Chick!

That's right- every Tuesday is Two Dollar Tuesday at TDC. All of the designers pick products to offer at a discount for the day. It's a great way to try out new designers or finally treat yourself to that kit you've been eyeing out for some time. You can see all the items here.

Gypsy Couture is offering Sweet Imagination for $2 today. This kit is beautiful and huge! It's normally $6, so this really is a great deal.

If you recall, I used it for this layout. I'm working out a second layout... in my head, I'll post once I have it done.

Dani is offering Lucky Day and Together All The Way.

I've never worked with Together All The Way, but I have worked with Lucky Day and I can tell you that the colors are perfect for Father's Day. This is the layout I made when the kit was first released, earlier this year. (I also used Pri Rocha's Blocking Templates in this layout.)

Are you familiar with Kelley Mickus? She is also at TDC and is one of my favorite designers! She creates beautiful papers and I love her Earthy color schemes. I have all of her latest kits... except for her newest one - Chance of Rain. Well, she is offering it today for $2! Just my luck, I promised my husband I wouldn't spend any money this week since we are traveling out of state tomorrow. What's a girl to do?! Well, this is your lucky day. If you've never tried her out, I encourage you to purchase this kit.

Happy Scrapping!

Photo Editing Tutorial

I just posted a photo editing tutorial on the STS Blog that shows you how to edit a photo like this:

Let me know if you like it... maybe I'll start posting tutorials here.

TDC just released TONS of Baby Kits!

Imagine my delight this morning when TDC designers released tons of adorable baby kits!

Gypsy Couture released two new baby kits and a few more goodies...

She released Page Genies Set 1 & 2, these were so much fun to work with. You can pick them up individually or save with the bundle here.

This is her kit Sweet Pea, pick it up here.

I used Sweet Pea and a template from Page Genies Set 1 for this layout:

She also released Boho Baby and Boho Baby Extras. Through this weekend if you buy Boho Baby you automatically get Boho Babies Extras for FREE! Pick it up here.

If that isn't enough to entice you... she is giving away this awesome sampler on her blog. Pick it up here.

I made this layout using Boho Baby (Full Kit and Extras) and a template from Page Genies Set 2 for this layout. I took these pictures of my son on Friday. I love how they turned out... I'm sure I'll be using them again in more layouts.

Dani released Hold Me Tight, you can pick it up here.

I made this layout... my son was just four days old in this picture. Can you believe he weighed 10 pounds when he was born?!

Hope you enjoyed my post. If you like how I edit my photos you should check out the STS blog later tonight. I'll be posting a short tutorial on photo editing. I would've posted it earlier, but I got my days mixed up. :)

My Little Artist QP {Freebie}

I had the opportunity to work with My Little Artist by Creations by Rachael. I had so much fun, this kit is adorable! Tons of great papers and elements.

This my first page with it, but I am positive I will be scrapping with it again. Journaling reads "You just couldn't understand why I had to wash your drawing off the wall. 01/20/09" Yes, that is a tear about to roll down his cheek.

Do you like it? I've turned it into a QP for you!

Sorry link has expired.

Happy Scrapping!

In the scrapping mood...

I've taken a little break from designing this week. I've been in the scrapping mood and it feels great! So relaxing for me. I've been working on some challenges and having a good time. I thought I'd share some layouts with you, I like how they turned out. If you are familiar with my layouts, you might notice that from time to time I reuse pictures. There is a reason for this. You see, my plan is to put together some books for my son. One for every year of his life. He is only two right now and doesn't know the difference, so I am not under a deadline. I like scrapping multiple layouts with my favorite pictures... I like to have options. Also, my main gallery was at The Digi Chick and unfortunately they lost their gallery recently. The bright side to this is that I get to play around with some of my favorite pics and kits again. You can click on the layouts to enlarge them, if you'd like to see them better.

The color challenge at STS this month is to use brown, green and pink. I made this layout using my Like No Other Kit and the Add-On Mini Kit. I really like how the clustered border turned out, so after finishing the layout I turned it into a Birthday Card for our members to use in the forum. I saved the PSD file, I'm hoping to find a better picture.

I made this layout for the Inspiration Challenge at TDC. The challenge was to complete a former Digi Dare! How fun, I always like their challenges... don't always have the time to participate. I chose Digi Dare #132. Dare Flair: No square or rectangles, must use a black & white photo and use four different types of fastners. Credits: Stitches from Candyfloss Paper Flowers by Mari Koegelenberg, Brad from Kiss of Spring by Gypsy Couture, all other elements and papers from rawr. by Amy Sumrall. I actually scrapped this photo earlier in the week using Monster Cute by Every Ever After Designs... but in a rushed moment I accidentally deleted my entire STS gallery! Yikes! I'll have to work on getting that back up.

I made this layout today for the Sketch Challenge at TDC. It really is a great template, it has the most beautifully subtle shadows. I used Flight of Fancy Mini Kit by Elise's Pieces. This kit is adorable. It was just released today so it was on sale 20% off, can you believe I picked it up for $2.00?!

I have some exciting news... I'm guest CT'ing for Gypsy Couture this month! If you aren't familiar with her work, you should check it out - gorgeous! I used her kit Sweet Imagination for this week's Scraplift Challenge at TDC, which by the way is being hosted by Dani.

Speaking of CT'ing, I was invited to be on the QP team over at Pretty Scrappy, I thought it'd be fun so I accepted! I'll be posting my first QP freebie for them shortly.

Hope you enjoyed my layouts! Happy Scrapping!
